Pros: The world and it’s changes is often times the focus. I’m still happy that Mass Effect is back, but it’s still a bit regressive.) Then with whatever story ending we chose, now that BioWare is reviving the series, potentially those results are null in void. First the Reapers motives were unknowable, but when the end was near and writers needed to make the Reapers motives knowable to provide closure to the story things got murky.

( I think one of the reasons for the less than ideal ending to Mass Effect 3 was that the creators weren’t entirely sure on how Shepard was going to beat the Reapers. Cons: If not planned appropriately it can be easy to make poor story choices and end up unsatisfied with the ending or make it harder for a sequel storyline to follow. (I actually got a bit emotional when my Shepard sacrificed himself in the Synthesis Ending to save the most people in the galaxy.) Pros: We become more attached and emotionally vested to our Main Character and their epic story. Each format has their own pros and cons that can make a franchise successful. Dragon Age is what I would call World Based Storyline in that we follow multiple protagonists in the same world. Mass Effect is what I would call Character Based Storyline in that we follow one protagonist through multiple games. Specifically, BioWare has two major non-MMO game franchises (Dragon Age and Mass Effect) and they both follow different story formats. In the future installments of Mass Effect what direction story-wise do you want BioWare to take. This is my first real post so forgive me if I get to long winded with my post.
