Occasionally, there is a chance that tapping the villager will zoom in on the them and briefly pause before proceeding to a conversation scene with them, skipping the normal villager menu. 
Villager Interaction (Campsite only): 5 Points.
Using Calling Card on a Villager: 1 Point. A villager can only have a maximum of 3 Request Tickets used on them daily. Using Request Ticket on a Villager: 3 Points. The amount of points received may increase during special events such as the Host the Most event, which gave an additional point when completing requests. These requests refresh every 3 hours (Starting at 6:00 AM UTC) with a max of 3 per hour, unless a Request Ticket is used. Completing Requests: 2-10 Points (depending on rarity of items requested). Alternatively, a villager may just have a conversation with the player. Regardless of whether chosen correctly, there will be a small chat and the player will receive friendship points. Favorite clothing - Villagers may ask for the player's help deciding between 3 pieces of clothing. Can only be done when visiting the villager at a recreational spot. 
Speaking with the villager only rewards friendship EXP once in a three-hour cycle.A player can interact with a villager to increase their friendship and receive gifts from them.
